Marta Svetek

Marta Svetek - Former thrash metal roadie turning tech up to 11

Growing up in a time when tech was still very much a boys club, Marta wouldn't take no for an answer - whether it was secretly logging onto her older brother's computer while he was still at school, or challenging her school's IT curriculum by teaching herself how to code at age 14.

Living and breathing social media since the early days she’s learned her craft from moderating forums and chatrooms to managing social media for her Students’ Union, working for a digital PR agency with some of Europe’s biggest brands, on to exploring new frontiers in social media as a freelancer. After moving to London from her native Slovenia to pursue a career in digital she came across Freeformers at a London tech conference and fell in love with the company’s energy and unique social model.

Since then she has gone on to train senior leadership/CXO groups of several FTSE100 companies, spoken at a number of conferences, regularly hosts Freeformers’ Upload Live digital skills festival and even works with injured, wounded and sick soldiers of the British Army. Having been part of online communities since the late 90s, living in a number of countries across Europe and even touring the continent as a roadie for a renowned heavy metal band, Marta has a very unique set of experiences and expertise which she brings to her role as Lead Trainer for Digital Marketing at Freeformers.
